India was the first country outside the UK to launch the International School Award. International School Award program in India has been one of the most successful school programs. ISA provides a framework for schools to develop an action plan and implement international activities throughout the year, and encourages schools to collaborate with overseas schools to create a rich learning experience for students through use of ICT, creative pedagogical practices and real context for learning. The Ethos of multiculturalism that international dimensions brings to education lies at the care of British Council's work.Having inspired with the concept of ISA and its impact and to incorporate internationalism in curriculum.Madras Christian College Higher Secondary School registered for the award program in 2017.The Headmaster and correspondent of the school appointed Mr.Daniel Jeyaseelan and Mr.D.Jaison Arputharaj as coordinator for ISA project.
The process began with preparation of action plan for Project international work. The prepared action plan was submitted for approval.The action plan was approved with necessary changes. Based on teachers students interest and involvement activities pertaining to the following projects were systematically designed and executed.
The projects were carried out meticulously and the students involved enthusiastically in organising various activities of the action plan. International personalities were regularly invited to Interact with students on global issues and cultural exchange programmes.A dossier containing the portfolios of evidence prepared as approved action plan was submitted to the project manager, British council Chennai for assessment and approval. Appreciating the efforts taken by the school in bringing internationalism in curriculum, INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AWARD 2018-2021 was awarded for the school.
The efforts taken by the school in bringing Internationalism in curriculum was recognised with cheerful applause when Dr.G.J Manohar, Headmaster and correspondent along with the ISA coordinators received the International School Award from the CEO, International school Award, British council.
